    Cams and Converters

I have a 1998 Camaro Z28. All I have done to it is cut-outs, a 4.11 gear, traction bars, slicks, and rear drag shocks. The motor has 103000, so I'm gonna pull it this winter and freshen it up. What cams are you guys running, and what times are you running? When the motor is out, I want to put a new cam in, and I already have a set of Patriot Heads with springs good for .600 lift. I can't run any faster than 12.00, but I want to be as close as possible. Thanks a bunch. Oh yeah, what converter are you guys running? I'm looking for something in the 3200-3800 range.

I am kind of confused, you have 4.11 gears and that is usually good for the M6 cars, and now your asking about a stall converter which I thought was for autos? But I might be wrong...

Maybe he meant 4.10s. I'll answer the stall question. I've seen people run anywhere from 3200-3800 on the stall and if you got full exhaust, gears and a cam you def. want 3600+

I have an auto. I only drive 5 miles to work, and I had a 4.11 (pro gear) from a different car. What I'm really concerned about is the cam. I've heard of people changing the valve springs on stock heads and stuffing a .575 lift cam in a stock engine. But it's just hearsay. I wanted help from people that have done cam swaps and seen performance numbers at the track. I'm kinda on a limited budget, so injectors, throttle body, etc have to wait. Other than nitrous, I need the biggest bang for my buck.

Holy shit, they made an NHRA edition? Bad ass. What times have you run with that setup? Did you do anything else? I run the Pro series in Omaha, Ne. I think I'm gonna go with at least a 3400 stall, but daily driving isn't in the cards for mine. Allbaugh, no I didn't get your voicemail, but I'll give you a call tomorrow. I'll drive the camaro to work tomorrow so u can check it out. Thanks guys.
