Sure it is. But you will not see near the potential of the cam with out the right supporting mods. Your going at it backwards honestly. That LS1 intake will kill you, its the worst intake out. No headers ( Im assuming no exhuast work at all) will also kill any cam added HP. Sounds like you have a completely stock car, and want a cam. If thats really what you want, go for it. It will be disappointing though. Get a LS6 intake or better, a decent pair of longtubes, then start thinking about a cam.

I see what you guys are saying i would like to do the weiland intake but the problem is headers i have a borla setup but the stock ypipe scrapes on everything and a 3in y pipe will not fit for my driveway

Why is the ls6 intake better an what is a twin cut out on the y pipe ?

bigger opening and better runners inside the intake. makes for a better power band from start to beginning just by itself. cutouts are holes in the exhaust pipes which can be closed. it allows for the exhaust to flow better and it much louder than an enclosed exhaust. but again you can close whenever though.

A good tuner can make most cams streetable. The 224 is a good cam with good streetability from what I read. 228R and 230 will get you a bit more power though.
