    Cam Trouble

OK, I'm ready to have my car tuned but I don't know what size cam is in it, I know it's not stock b/c the car shakes at idle and you can just feel the thing pull as soon as you let off of the break like it's about to jump. I bought the 99 z28 Camaro from a guy who deals all American Muscle cars. He bought the car like it was and when I looked at the title he had the car 3 years and had only put 50 miles on it. He tried contacting the original owner of the car but his cell number has been changed. So, what is the cheapest way for me to find out what size cam is inside so I can send it to frost to have it tuned.

You would have to take it out and get it degreed, I know you don't want to do that though

that's major surgery, do you think that the cam has the model # stamped in the end of it, could that be something taken out at home, not really worried about the downtime part of it b/c i have other vehicles to drive in the mean time.

Some do have the specs on the end, we don't know that though. Is there no one who can give you a live dyno tune?

not any1 close. I'm 3 hours from Richmond where Frost is and I sent him a message i was just gonna haul the car down there and let them dyno it and tune it. Think that would do the trick?

That would be alot less time than taking the guts apart to get a basic mail order tune. Yah go to frost personally make a day of it and hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised

For sure make the 3 hour trip to Frost, I would. Plus, I think the spec are going to be written on the other end of the cam if Im thinking right.

yeah i'm just waiting for him to reply back to my message so I can make the appointment and see what the price will be. I'm getting a 3:73 gear put in this week while i'm at the beach and then i'm putting it in his hands when he sees accordingly
