That's like asking what kind of beer do you drink?!?
You'll get a ton of opinion answers.
Best thing you can do is think about the main purpose for the car, then read, read, & read some more. Here, LS1Tech, & LS1Sounds are all good sources for information. As well as the performance shop sponsors also. They can make good recommendations.
I've got a 232/234 595/598 112LSA, FLP LT's, & a TCI 'verter that performs great for a weekend cruiser at 388hp/373tq.
And I drink more Mountain Dew than anything else, ..., no it's not even beer.

I have a Torquer V2 (.595/.598 114 LSA) in my 6.0 motor with full boltons including a 3600 stall. While I don't drive my car to work every day, I do drive it a few times a week in bumper to bumper traffic....I have not had a problem yet. My car drives well on the street. I have not had my car dyno tuned, but I hope it will put down 400 RWHP.
A good stall is going to cost you about $700 and that is about what I spent on my cam, lifters, springs, pushrods and LS2 timing chain too.Last edited by qwk93ta; 08-04-2010 at 06:07 AM.

A good all around setup if your building a fun daily driver would be around a 228/232 (4 degrees split duration cam to work better with your stock heads) .590-.600 lift on a 112lsa or tamer 114 lsa and a 3,600-3,800 stall. also if you want to pull your heads, mill about 0.040" off of them to get you up to about 11:1 compression
1st thing you NEED is a big tranny cooler before you do any mods.

No way in hell your gonna get anywhere near 400-450 to the wheels with just a cam and stall.
This question is too broad. You need to figure out what you want out of the car first.Last edited by rajiv1998; 08-04-2010 at 04:40 PM.

i think your going to need heads to get to 450. the trick flow 515hp package has a mild cam ive heard but its going to get expensive quick. at least 7500 if your going to bring it to a good shop.

i meant total amount. stainless steel headers, ypipe, catback, lid, stall, tranny cooler, might need injectors, underdrive pully, ported maf, flexplate, new timing chain, new oil pump and that does not take into account if the tranny or rearend blows. it adds up quick
