    Cam question

Im not extremely knowledgeable about cams and such, but I have a 228/234 600 lift 114 lsa cam waiting to be put in my car. With stock heads, and my other mods, what kinda power am I looking at? is that a real streetable cam? I have a feeling thats more along the lines of a medium level cam, not too big not too small, and should work fine with stock heads. just wondering your opinions...

I would have to guess at 370rwhp range, give or take. That should be a streetable cam, mine is bigger than that and mine is. One other thing, make sure you do valve springs, they are a must when doing any cam on a ls1.

only 370 even with my supporting mods? Geez I would imagine im close to 330 or 340 with what I have right now...

and yeah I have the valve springs. I also have a higher flow oil pump, better pushrods, and double pulley timing chain to go with the cam swap.

with that cam you look to increase HP by about 40-50 Hp which is a pretty respectable amount. only way o now is to get it on the dyno.

Yeah I intend to take it get dyno tuned here in rochester at New Era, but that might not be for a while because the parts I have, the money for the dyno is a little different story, haha. And thanks for the input.

370 - 380 for a stalled A4 sounds about right for that cam. You could expect to do a little better with a LS6 intake. The good news of it all, is with that cam, your stall, 3.73's and the supporting mods, the car should be noticeably faster. With traction and good DA, you should easily be good for low 12's.
