    Cam and Intake

I have longtubes, catted y, and catback. If I put in a new cam would the stock LS1 intake really rob a lot of my power or should I change it right away.

While you would likely still see relatively nice gains from the cam swap, you're still going to leave a bit of HP on the table by sticking with the more restrictive LS1 intake. Given that a cam swap is already pretty costly ($300+ for cam + springs + pushrods + install + tune), I'd go ahead and save the extra $300 - $350 and pick up a used LS6 intake.

The amount of HP you're missing out on will be determined mainly by the cam you select. If you pick a cam that makes great power down low, the restrictive upper limits of the LS1 intake wouldn't be as much of a problem as it would be if you had a monster cam that makes most of its power up top.

right now I have a comp cam but I dont know the specs on it, so I was wanting to go with a 226/226 585/585 112 LSA.

How would this cam work with the LS1 intake Midnight02?

There is no doubt you will feel the difference of the cam with the LS1 intake, but you'll feel it a lot more with an LS6 or F.A.S.T
