Cam and head package?
Im interested in maybe getting a cam down the line, but I dont want some lopey noisy cam. My plan, would be to get either stage 2 or 3 heads, and a "Quiet" cam. Just something that would help with the heads. School me

well it is a stealth cam that thunder racing makes. You will have to go to thunderracing.com and look at it.

the right exhaust and a wider cam Lsa will make the car quiet.you have 241s currently ,400 hp is possible with a TSP 228r cam kit.go to TSP webstore and look at the different stages of heads, and figure whats in your price range.

I'd go with Texas Speed's stage 2.5 5.3 liter heads and cam package with their 224 cam on a 114 lsa. I'd post you a link but they're not a sponsor. Texas Speed sells the best performing budget ported heads. If you have the cash get the AFRs tho.

A 224(.609",XFI)/224(.600",XFI) with a 115lsa would do the trick.

My advice is, if you can afford it, don't go cheap on heads. You will like the budget heads at first, then you will start wondering how much the budget heads are holding you back and what you could of had performance wise if you had saved up another $500-$1000 for a really good set of heads. Can't go wrong with AFR, ETP, or Trickflows...
But, it isn't as simple as install a head and cam package and you're done. LOL, if you have an auto, gonna want/need a stall and a tune. And if you have a manual a tune will do you some good, gonna need a new clutch (soon), and be careful with that 10 bolt rear end. And traction isn't exactly your best friend, gonna need a descent set of tires.
Then you're gonna want more, so in comes the FAST intake...it never ends, trust me...LOL.

I just bought some Trickflow 215's for my setup. They cost a good bit more than I wanted but I can use them again when I decide to build a bigger motor.

stage 2 does not usually require flycutting. There are lots of shelf cams that are fine for stage 2 heads. And from what I gather he isn't wanting a real aggressive cam like the MS3, MS4, G5X4, or T-Rex. stage 2 heads and a 228 would be fine. But in his interest, call the shop you wish to order the heads from and ask.
