Cam and computer/smog problem

Hello everyone. I had a cam installed about three yrs ago for my ss 2000 camaro but before I could get the spec card to get it tuned to the computer the guy who installed the cam's smog shop got raided by the cops (go figure) but the spec card was lost in the mess and my mechanic told me without the spec card the service engine light would stay on and i wouldnt pass smog which it hasnt.

With that said I was told I can have the car tuned or dyno which would burn the specs to the computer.

If so does anyone know of someone in the southern california area who could do it or if there is a better way of burning it to the computer without the hassle of changing the cam?

A cam should not cause a SES light. There is another issue going on. Try going to an auto parts store and having the car scanned for codes. That will point you in the direction of what needs fixed.
