    Cam choice

I know this subject has been beat to death but fuck it here it is. I CAN NOT make up my mind on what cam. I DON'T want a choppy idle but I don't know how big I can go before idle is affected. I was thinking of the 224R- 224/224 .581/.581. Is that too small or too big? Also will I notice any performance gain or do I need to go big?

The chop really comes from low LSA, so if you want no chop, go for the 114LSA 224R cam and you should be good to go.

I think it's offered in a 116 too. Do you think that would move the power band too far up?

Lope is caused by overlap which is obviously the amont of degrees both the intake and exhaust valve are open. A simple formula is take duration at .050 and:

Add the intake and exhaust durations
    Divide the results by 4
    Subtract the LSA
    Multiply the results by 2

    or

add IVO+EVC This info will be on your cam card...
