Cam Bearings
Has anyone had a problem with new cam bearings? I am in the process of rebuilding the motor for my 2002 z28. The car has 42000 miles on it. The motor was very clean inside but the cam bearings were worn. So I had the machine shop clean, hone, and install new cam bearings. I started reassembly but the cam would not turn once I got it into the 5th bearing. I took it back to the shop and they installed a new set of bearings with the same results. So we checked the cam to make sure it was straight and it was. We verified that we had the right bearings for that year. It turns out that the block is warped and the cam journals need line honed. Is this a common problem?
