    cam?

I was thinking about purchasing a cam for my 01 z28 it has the basic bolt-ons. I had thought about buying a g5x3 cam but didn't know if it would be too much cam for my car, I had also thought about going the gm hot cam route but wasn't for sure. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    cam only or cam+heads?

Also, from what I've read you would be better off to avoid the hotcam

a stall converter thats about 3500 rpm,
long tube headers, normal bolt ons and tuning, youll be knocking at the upper mid 11s door and still be streetable.
