    bore and stroke

    how big can i go on a stock ls1 aluminum block? i wanna do a 428 cube, 4.125" bore 4.000" stroke, then turbocharge it

    You must have VERY deep pockets.

    Without sleeving it, you shouldn't bore the stock aluminum LS1 block.
    Sleeves get VERY expensive.

    Can it be done? Sure....will it last? Nope.
    LQ9 Iron Block and go have a blast....that is what it is built for.

    Or LQ4 block. Only thing with that is having a lower compression to start with if your using stock internals because of the dished pistons. Ether way, the iron block what your going to need for your application unless you go with the LSX block for 2000$
