Do you have a 6 speed manual trans? If so, probably a missed shift, like 2nd to 1st, instead of 2nd to 3rd.

over-revving causes it (usually from missing a shift). the stock pushrods flex severely (final result is they end up bent) when the engine and valvetrain get over-revved...

How do you know when they are bent? Latley, I've had ALOT of noise coming from under the hood. Alot of clicking and tapping. At first I thought it was an exhaust leak, but now I'm not sure.

its a very distinct sound.. as soon as u start it up u will hear a loud knocking noise and it doesnt go away it will just get louder as u increase rpm's

Some people know when they bend a pushrod as the car ticks at idle after a blown shift or other severe over rpm situation. If several are bent then it will not be a simple tick.
I have a complete set of straight ones with 66k on them looking for a good home.

Personally I wouldn't want to drive it and especially rev it very high with it clattering. Severely bent rods will rub inside the block and you're not opening the valves properly.
I don't want much for the oem push-rods. I think $20 + shipping is all they're worth. I think most people would want the molybdenum rods for replacement. That's what I bought when I replaced my heads.
