    bent pushrod issue

So I've been taking my heads off a little at a time the past 2 days and I've found my problem...a bent pushrod in cylinder 7... Should I replace them all or just that one? and who makes a nice, strong pushrod? I'm also gonna get my heads milled as much as I can but I don't know if I should go as far to where I would need new pushrods? Any advice/input would be much appreciated.

yup you should replace all of them...and the pushrod length will change when you mill your heads.

like said already if you mill your going to need different length PR and since you have to buy new rods anyways now would be the best time to get the heads milled

When I had my heads milled I also had them complete a valve job. I think the total price was about $200.

I have not just 1 bent PR now... I have 2 bent. I've decided to go ahead and get them milled to the max since I have to get new PRs anyways, and also get a valve job. I can't seem to find the casting numbers on the heads tho. Is there another way to tell the difference between ls1 and ls6 heads?

if you are stock you have 853s which are not ls6 heads...ls6 heads are 243 castings

unless the previous owner changed the heads and cam it came with ls1 heads, and cam. also for your year the intake is a ls1 unless it was changed, the ls6 didnt come on the fbody until 01. as far as the cast number i believe it is on the front corner of the passanger side head.

I know what cams/heads/intakes come with what year model cars. I took the intake off and it is an ls6 intake. The heads were made in 1999, so they are most likely the stock heads. As far as the cam goes I doubt it is an ls6 cam since the heads are not ls6....( which is exactly opposite of what the guy I bought it off of claimed it had).

also... the casting numbers have been scratched off. I found some numbers on the inside of the head by the springs that told me the month & year it was made.

Since I'm getting my heads milled .0030+ I was wondering if anyone knows about what size PRs to order? I'm going to wait for the mechanic to call me and tell me what I should get, but I'm just curious and what to start looking around now. I have no patience lol
