Bare LS1 vs Bare LS2
Got a question for all of you saltly dogs... Can I buy a bare LS2, bore it .030" over (408 cid), buy a 4.030 x 4.000 rotating assembly, slap some AFR 225s on top, build the rest of the motor with LS1 parts, and put it in my 02 WS6? Will everything plug right in? I can't remember if it's that easy or not? Surely there is some catch?

No. The knock sensors are different...the throttle body electronics is different....few other things I cant remember off the top of my head....much easier to go LQ9 if your wanting to reuse your LS1 parts....

First...you dont want to bore the thing .030 over....I dont think you can....second......you can put the motor in just have to make the wiring longer for the knock sensors.....I did it....you'll have to use your throttle body.....but the intake, fuel rails, injectors, everything else off your LS1 will bolt on......
