a good machine shop with LS experance will know what there doing , dont forget to install the bar bell (oil restrictor) or you will end up having low oil pressure.
Red lock tight all bolts that only get 10-20 TQ , cam sprocket bolts oil pick up tube,
oil pump, they say blue , but i like red.

elaborate where is the oil restricter you speak of? Machine shops where I live don't have any ls experience. Ive already asked

Well that sucks! it looks like a barbell, its behind the rear cover, made of plastic, but very important,
call around i am sure u can find a machine shop with experance,

I can guide you if you need help. First thing you need to do is get that baby spottless give it a bath in acetone or mineral spirits. Are you down for this?

all bolts are torque to yeld so ur gonna need new head bolts and main bolts. i re use everything else on mine. a 220-224 would be a good cam choice. i had a 5.3 with shaved 243 heads, 224/228 .581/.588 cam and a fast 90. made 351 through an unlocked auto. what kind of tranny you plan on running?
