Black- 1999 Pontiac Firehawk
Advise needed on camshaft.
I have a 1999 Pontiac Firehawk with 30K on it that I purchased new. I am giving it some upgrades: LS7 Clutch, Fast Ported 90 Intake, Holley 90MM Throttle Body, Stainless 1 3/4" Long Tube Headers, 42 lbs injectors, and a cam.
I bought a TFS Stage 3 Camshaft 238/242dur .595/.595lift 112LSA.
Is this cam going to be streetable for me? I won't drive it alot, obviously.
I have a factory 3.42 gear with an T-56 Tranny. The guy that is going to dyno-tune it is very good!
What is your thoughts on my set-up? is it to much cam for stock head and stock bottom end?

You'll need at least 918 springs, if not duals (factory springs are only good till like .525" lift), probably hardened pushrods, and you may wanna go with lifters and trays if you're pulling the heads. That's a lotta duration and kinda small lift, what lobes is it ground on, XE? I guess streetability is gonna be in the tune....

4:10 gears would help.

I forgot that I had purchased 918 springs, but I didn't get pushed rods. Both shops here said they weren't needed and was a waist of money on my end?

What are you doing for heads? Thats a big cam and a big intake manifold for stock heads.
