    98 Heads

I know the 98 heads do not have the center bolts through heads. My question is what are those heads casting numbers? Also was 98 the only year they were put on f-bodys? I have a 99 and I'm praying I dont have those heads.

I forget my casting number 85-... and I think those are it. If I do have those heads, Is my block not capable of matching a set of 243's or something else from the later engines? Or is it posible to drill and tap the block where the head bolts go? Or are the designs for the bolts completely different?

the head bolt patterns are the same, so you can bolt a newer set of heads right onto the block.
if you do a swap you'll need the newer centerbolt valve covers and coil bracket

Can you tap into the block for the center head bolts?

you do not need to tap into the heads for center bolt valve covers!

Heads swap from the 98 heads requires new valve covers and coil pack brackets.

    They are direct fit.

243 heads didnt come on 02s. I do believe the pushrod length is different on them.

My 5/00 WS6 has the 241 heads. They must've changed late in the production year.

    Correct
As for the pushrod length it is based off the Base circle of the cam and has nothing to fo with the heads (unless they were milled).
