    73 vette

Hi I have 1973 stingray with 92 tpi 350 out of 92 z28 tremec 3550 5 spd 355 rear gear. It's my daily driver(96 miles each way to work 3 times a week). It's time to refresh the motor. I would like to know what heads to look for. I would like to use aluminum ones. Help?

Freightdog go over to www.corvetteforum.com and post your question in the C-3 tech performance section. Lots of guys over there have corvettes with either the LT-1 and the LS-1 engines. Good folks over there also.

I concur....the Corvette Forum (website posted in the post above) is a great place to start. Since you have a TPI motor, check out the C4 section......if I recall correctly the TPI motors were in the Corvettes from 1986 - 1990.

I have an '89 Corvette and did a good bit of research on this. If you're looking for little bump in performance, porting the stock L98 heads has proven to be effective. Provided you're still running a stock TPI intake setup, you'll definitely need to start modding the intake (ported base, ported plenum, better runners, etc.) to give it air to breathe.....otherwise, it will simply die off around 4,500 rpm. Couple ported stock L98 heads with an effectively ported intake setup and a set of LT headers and you'll definitely pick up a nice seat of the pants gain!

If you're actually looking to replace the stock heads, check out AFR eliminators.....great product, great price!
