5.3L Vortec
I often hear people say they are gettign 5.3 heads. Would these be the same heads on a 5.3L Vortec?
Are they better than LS6 heads?

Ok guys, I dont know if you didnt notice but i'm pretty stunned to this stuff. So are you saying that the Vortec heads are better?
Could I swap the 5.3 Heads off my truck (2006 GMC Sierra) put them on my trans am, than put my LS1 Heads or LS6 Heads on my truck?

I think I remember reading an article in Pontiac High Performance and they used those heads on an LS1. You might try searching through there site.

haha guys I just wanna know opinions here, I mean it's a thought, Im not planning on doing anything anytime soon, just a future thought.
5.3 Vortec heads on 1999 Trans Am WS6 compared to the LS6 Heads on it now?
LS6 Heads(Or LS1 Heads) on my truck(since i would be taking the 5.3's from it) Would this hurt my truck's power? Improve? What?

the 5.3 heads have slightly smaller chambers to give you a bump up in compression, but at the same time they have smaller runners and valves. so to get the most out of them you need to port and polish them, and get the larger valves put in them.
but to answer your question, yes if you wanted to you could swap your truck heads to your car, the valves might be a hair too big in the heads that are on your car t fit the smaller bore of the 5.3

2000 Grand Prix GTP- 2000 Trans Am WS6 M6
Get 5.3L Heads (increase in compression), have them CNC Ported (to increase flow), and have a valve job done to increase the valve size (to increase flow). I also had my 5.3L Heads milled to 60cc, wasn't a choice, more of a requirement (chip in the head surface)...I hope it will work with my cam choice.
Ta-da
