    5.3 heads on a 5.7???? and flywheel ????

I just picked up two LS1s and two LQ motors. None of them 100% complete, but enough parts between them to get my motor together for the C4 conversion.

    Question.

    1. I heard 5.3 heads work well on a 5.7. True/False?

    2. Will the 5.3 auto flexplate fit right on a 5.7 with no balance issues?

    1. the intake valve is smaller. so, the trade off will be higher compression, but less air getting in.

    2. yes.

    Very cool!

I picked up a LS1 from a 98 Vette, a spare bare block, a 5.3 complete and a nearly complete 4.8 last weekend to piece together for my 85 Vette project.

I'll slap that flywheel on. I'll see if my machine shop would be comfortable swaping valves, porting...etc. on the 5.3 heads.

Sounds great. I am in Auburndale just off 540.

My buddy has a C6 with headers, BB muffs, tune, t-stat, cold air...etc. He has been wanting to hook up with me and take the rides to the track. However, Lakeland closed the 1/8th mile...and I get so busy on the weekends trying to make the car run that it is hard to pair away to Bradenton.

However...we need to make an exception soon and go get some time slips.

Where do you run in Orlando?????
