    427 or 454 LSx Stroker?

My Camaro has 130k miles on it... this Winter I'm planning to tear it all apart and rebuild/replace the motor, trans, suspension.... and so on... I was thinking about motors... I was looking at a 427 or a 454 stroker with the LSx block. I'm planning to put a Procharger on it with about 15-20 psi of boost and to top it off... about a 75 shot of Nitrous.... just the cherry on top!!!! haha!! and to the question if I really need that much power.... YES I DO... why?? Just because...

Anyways... I want to run around 800 rwhp... I know everything needs to be forged so that's not a problem. but which setup with which pistons, heads and cam? any suggestions? Thanks for your input

I was also interested in Kaetech's street attack 427 that was in GM High Tech magazine..... Not sure which one will be better powerwise though

I want to do the same without the nitrous and using the LSX block. I like the 454 size. I'm getting the rest of my car ready first.

Well, first of all, how much are you willing to spend, cause that much HP isn't cheap.

In no way is it cheap. Money isn't really an object because I want my car show quality and to run, handle and have a good 1/4 mile time

Why don't you put a turbo on there instead?

I haven't comepletely decided on a turbo or a supercharger.... I'm kinda in between so far but it's about which one is most efficient and which one will give me more power. I've always loved chargers though.

    800RWHP??

Do you need the LSx block?
Because a solid 408 with a blower should get you there.

    M6 in the 9's.
    Takes a hell of a driver, and a hell of a set-up.

Get me a job making whatever you are.

This all depends on the internals he goes with.

The block itself is solid, but it is only as good as the sum of the parts.

9 second car. Get ready to tear that thing apart and replace just about everything. Not only will you need to upgrade the motor, your gonna need a new tranny, rear end, and fuel system along with a roll cage. I hope you have about 30 grand laying around to do all this.

I'm planning on tearing it apart this winter and starting the project.... Yeah I'm aware of everything I need... So it's not really a problem to me.... I'm just concerned about the motor right now because I've come to terms on how much it's gonna cost.

Ok then. You'll need some L92 heads with a larger cc chamber, forged dished pistons. Go with a turbo since they make more power up top and are more efficient since they run off of the exhaust and not the engine crank. The cam, you'll prob want a 22x duration custom grind with no valve overlap. Have a sheetmetal intake custom built for your application.

Hell, with a 427 or 454, a cam in the 220s is way too small. It would need at least a high 230s, low 240s area duration, possibly more. Well, for n/a and supercharger for sure, not 100% sure on cam specs for turbos, they can be odd sometimes.
