228r cam install random ticking

I installed a 228r cam, with new hardened pushrods, spring, seals, oil pump and timing set. I have a random ticking noise when at idle in drive (like parking in a lot). Noise sounds a lot like a quiet exhaust leak, it doesn’t speed up with rpm seems to go away after 2000 rpm. I have rechecked the valve train twice; I’m using the ls1 how-to install.com method, just torque to 22ft and turn 180 check torque. The noise seems to be random once engine is over 150F, sometimes it’s there sometimes not. Should I ignore it, install valve train with a tdc method, or tear it down and replace lifters. Don’t mean to be freaking out maybe I’m being paranoid. Car runs awesome other than noise.

I would have to hear it.....is it more of a sewing machine type noise? That'd be a normal sound.

Just a quick fellow up on this, so it doesn’t set unresolved like so many forums.
I measured my preload with a dial indicator and found that I only had .050 preload. I installed .0250 longer pushrods (7.425) valve train sounds like stock much much better. Not saying this will fix everyones problems but measure preload.
