2.5 5.3l/ torquer v2 tsp kit
I'm sure that someone on the board is running this setup. wanted to know what your thoughts were on it. I'm also considering a rod bolt change at the time of install for insurance. since 500hp at the engine seems like it would be towards the limit unless they are only unreliable at high rpms.
My car is an m6 and will see maybe 2k a year on the road so it's not a DD but would still like to keep a decent amount of drivability. i will also be switching to a 12 bolt with 4.11 in the future to keep the 10 bolt from meeting it's usual fate. mods are... full exhaust, lid, ported stock TB, ls6, slp pulley. thanks for any feedback

sounds like an excellent plan you have there. I run prc 5.3L stage 2.5 heads but with a 228R. I've often wished I would've went larger with the cam but that being said the 228 is a great street cam. Another thing I've kinda wished over the years was staying away from the 5.3L heads and getting som AFR's, Trickflow, TEA's, or something like that. Heads is where you make the power and budget heads make budget power.

what kind of power are you making? i have searched and found people making between 420-430 rwhp with this combo. obviously there are variables like dyno,bolt on manufacture, tune and such. have seen 430+ with fast intake setups. i would think 228r would be the choice for a street car with auto and the V2 would give the 6 speed guys a little more leeway to rev where a car with good set of gears in it would want to be. did you do any short block work on yours?

never had it on a dyno. I run 11.80's with it but the car has more in it. When I ran those times I was at the worst track around. One of these days maybe I'll get it over to the good track here but I've about quit tracking the car. Just use it to cruise around in now and rip the streets up from time to time. No short block work at all on it.
