it is a fact people go witrh what they know...its similar over here, the US imports get a very limited market and just dont get the following and guess the same would happen with our models getting shipped your way..the gto is the exception to the rule apparently?
Although I remember when i was selling the ute i was surprised the amount of questions and offers i was made by guys in the states who had seen it on ebay...

Over here, there are the GTO "purists" that say our cars don't honor the classic GTO. But, if you put the classic Monaro next to a 74 Nova/GTO, they resemble each other. Just the Ro is right-hand-drive.
I feel we should have got the HSV GTS as our G8. Looks more aggressive.
extreme dimensions, driveshaft shop, harrop, hid(35watt/6k) lows, hurst, k&n, led fogs, maverick man, mishimoto, nitto, revshift, slp, stern st-1, smoked sidemarkers, whiteline poly radius rod bushings

Well, the GTO sold well to enthusiasts, but otherwise just didnt take off. It's a good car, but apparently it was the answer to a question nobody was asking. Same sort of thing with the G8 it would seem. The saving grace for the G8/Caprice might be if GM brings the Australian Caprice here (G8 essentially) for fleet duty as a police car. That could turn out to be a good decision with Ford ceasing Crown Vic production in favor of the Taurus.

Ive seen few pics of the Caprice in LAPD livery..looks the goods and had favourable reviews by the cops when they were over here testing..
