New car... 1998 gold TA

I introduced myself in the proper section but here is the car I bought today.

A 1998 Gold Trans Am. Ive been watching it on craigslist and finally sold my other car so I was able to go look at it. It needs a bit more work to be really nice than I expected, but I think I stole it for what it is. Paid 4,800 for it. Its got 138,xxx miles, but I am the 3rd owner and the biggest problems are cracked windshield, bad tires and road rashed rims and a busted rocker skirt on the passenger side. It also needs some misc interior plastic trim just because of broken clips and such but over all I am pretty happy with it. Just got home with it after putting 200 miles on it to get home and it drove really great. I did see that it needs some brake lights though. Thankfully my wife was behind me the whole way.

Here is the only pic I have right now. Taken about half way home as we stopped for dinner in Tulsa. The car needs a major detail but that will come this next week.

nice. i just both my wife a 01 t/a with 138xxx miles as well.. she also needs a detail job and a couple of miner things

there a gold on local here that i want! Only problem is it has 128k miles and he wants 22k for it

Goodness! Does he think it's plated in real gold? I'm really liking the unique color for sure. Only other gold ones I've seen in person is a TA when they were new, a Z28 last week and a couple of 6 cylinders over the years.

This Airline Pilot had Gold one up here,it was a WS6 A4,he traded it in on a 2002 SOM WS6 A4 that he still has.

he must think the paint is made from real gold. lol. OP nice ride. Enjoy and let us know if you need help fixing those small details. I bought mine 2 yrs ago. It had 43k on it. The paint was decent. It needed aligment, a new right tire and some door switches. The car was pretty nasty inside, party car. The lady wanted $9200 for and i got it down to $8700.

I test drive it and it drove really good. I got all the seats aout and shampoo the carpet. I cleaned all the surfaces. got the switches that were missing. new tire and alignment. Gave a good wax and got rid of the smoker smell. Its been a great car!

Thanks guys! I bought some WS6 rims and tires from 98TransAmWS-6 here on the site and got them on the car Thursday. Just thought I'd throw up a new pic.

I Agree, and the chrome/polished wheels look so much better.

Not to mention she's going to handle better.

Like on a trans am collector edition,roof panel and side mirrors painted black and the rear bumper cover panel around the tag painted black

Cool car man! I remember seeing a golf Z28 with something like 18k miles on it about 7 years ago and they wanted it gone for I think 12.9k if I remember correctly. I do remember it was an auto and that it had like camel color leather. Does that sound right? Cant remember if it was a hard top or if it was a t-top though.

Again, nice car and take care of her.
