how to open a photobucket account and link to PM's...with pics

This was done rather quickly and hopefully I didn't skip a step.

First go to photobucket.com and click on the "join" button


then fill in all your information and submit it

next browse for your file and click on it


after that you click the upload button


after the file is done just scroll down and it'll list your files with the appropriate links below them. Just click on the "direct link" and it'll automatically copy it.


Now you've uploaded your pic and it's copied to your clipboard. Come back to the site and open up a PM to whoever you're sending it and put the title in then click the picture icon.


when the dialog box opens either highlight or backspace through the http:// that's already there or it'll have it twice and right click in the box and select paste. Then select ok and it'll go back to your PM/thread and look like this.


then just send it and you're done.

I just noticed that I do it the hard way....this way works fine but you can click on the bottom copy link at photobucket and it does an img copy so you don't have to insert the img /img with brackets here. It does it for you. I never paid attention before. It works either way.

Thank you.... how are people able to post pics that just show up in the threads? If i were to post a pic using the above method, people would have to click on the link in the post to view the picture correct?

no, it's the same as PM's. See those 2 little icon's of mountain ranges above the reply box? The one on the right thumbnails and the one on the left will show the whole pic.

I need to update the pics actually because the look of photobucket has changed. You'd be surprised at how many people this has helped.
