C5 Z06 pics - another batch! Lets try this again!
Here is my latest batch of pics I'll be using for the last month of COTM entries. Vote for the ones you think I should use! Photo criticism and tips are always welcomed! This was my first outing with the SLR camera that I don't really know how to use yet.
Thanks!

#1 and the sunset pics are my personal favs. They may not be what the site is looking for as far as COTM material goes but I wanted to try something different that no one has submitted yet to mix it up a bit.

Im at work looking at these pics now and the color is way different than on my home monitor. Do they look over saturated to the point where the colors get blotchey on anyone elses monitor? I don't really know how else to fix this. I just lowered the contrast from 100% to 80% on this computer and its still kind of the same.
Maybe it has something to do with that I resized them to 640x480 in photobucket so it saved them with their crappy JPEG compression method????Last edited by ArcticZ06; 11-04-2008 at 04:43 AM.

I just love the car in general, but I think the close ups with the Alaskan terrain in the background look especially unique - Great job and good luck with COTM Dec!

I can't stand the photobucket/imageshack compression.
What internet provider do you have? I use comcast's hosting (which isn't the fastest for other users, but works for high quality JPEG's) myself.
Also, what compression do you use for your final picture before uploading? What software to resize?

I have a local internet provider up here thats specific to Alaska gci.com
I normally use photoshop resize them all to 640x480 using the option thats best for decreasing image size (cant remember the name, bicubic or bilinear or whatever) and I always save with maximum image quality on the compression. This last batch i messed up and uploaded the high res pics to photobucket and it automatically resized them so im thinking that may have something to do with it.

Just wondering if your internet provider offers hosting like comcast. I have a gig of space per screen name.
No compression...just whatever you upload.
My JPEG's tend to come out (now, I was doing it wrong before lol) 768x512 and right around 300 kilobytes.

# 5 Is the best if you follow all of popular hotrodding's photo shoot tips. That's what I've been going off of since they have the best shots of cars in their mag. I also liked the sun set shots.
