    What could be wrong?

I have a 96 3.8 camaro with an A4. The trans will hold all the way through first, 3rd, and 4th. It will start to slip out of 2nd only after 3k rpms until redline then shifts hard as hell to 3rd (chirpin hard), would bad clutches cause this or worn bands?

because i was curious if it was the bands or the clutches causing it to act this way?
