Hey 200hp ain't bad! Just a few mods like exhaust and intake and you can get it near 225+. That has more hp than a stock 79 t/a with the 403 olds motor rated at a whopping 179hp!!

It depends what year, but 95 1/2 - 02 sixes have 3.8 V6 rated at 200 hp and 225 lb/ft of tourque. Hp at the wheels varies and you should dyno it to check for yourself but likely a totally stock 3.8 will dyno 160-170 ish at the wheels.

Silver- 2002 Camaro v6
At the wheels you should have about 162 Hp and 165 Tq. But like the others said don't be discouraged! With a full exhuast and a decent cam you can move that to about 225 RWHP. Personally, all I have is a Highflow cat, Loudmouth exhaust and lid and I put down 181 RWHP 215 RWTQ. It just takes time and a little investment!! !!

If I was you i would just keep the v6 for a while and not mod the engine....ull find u will spend alot of money trying to keep up with ls1s....i would just keep the car for its looks and upgrade to an ls1 later on

The LS1 is only in the Z-28 and SS. The V-6 is still considered a F-Body but that has nothing to do with the engine size. The V-6's are considered 3800's (depending on year model) and the Z-28/SS are considered LS1's. It's just the name of the engine.

The LS1 is the name of the engine in the 98-02 V8 Firebird/Camaros. It is the third generation of the LS1 engine. In 93-97 Fbodies, the engine was the LT1 V8. The V6 engine is technically called the L36, or the 3800 series 2, which was in base model firebirds from 95 1/2 - 02.
