Sticking in gear / not going into gear

I have a '97 Firebird and for a while it has either been sticking in gear when I try to shift, or when it actually decides to come out of gear nicely, it wont want to go into the next gear. And to get it to go into gear I have to let out of the clutch a little bit and it will slip in. Anyone have any idea what the issue is here? Thanks!

Does it do this for all gears? If so, it could be the clutch hydraulics. Check/change the fluid and bleed it well. You may want to look into the drill mod, if it hasn't been done yet. If you determine that is functioning properly, and the problem still exists, then there is an internal problem in the tranny such as a bent/broken shifter fork, worn synchros, damaged gears, ect.
