My daughter just got hers also . She shopped for a while to find what she wanted and one I would actually purchase,( V6 only for a newbie ). But she was only shopping 98 and up because of the looks of it. I would say spoiled youngsters , but she knew what she wanted also. She got a '99.

Haha my parents bought me a 94 3.4L camaro as my first car. I think it was a great choice. Now I'm moving on to the LS1 for graduation! Woo

Throw in some gears, converter, intake/exhaust mods and a bottle in your spare tire well and you'll be REALLY surprized on how strong it pulls. With mods like that you're looking in the 12 second range.

    Enjoy your six!

Well it started already - she got her first Kill tonight. She said she was all smiles after laying the smackdown on a fellow f-bodier . 99 firebird vs 96 Camaro . She said he was pissed after losing ..... about 2 lengths on 2 different 1/4 mile runs . Because he was doing all the talking and wanted to run in the first place. Her car came with a K&N and we opened the airbox up a bit but that was only mods so far. But we will do more .... never had one that we didn't fiddle with yet .

Just done a lay down and watch the driveshaft as I was curious myself. It appears to be about 3 1/4 ( whatever exact # they used that year ?????? ) ..... 3.23 ?

Well, if it's a M5 then you have 3.23's. If it's an auto, you could have either 3.42 with a LSD or 3.08's open, depending on if you had the performance package. Sounds like it's probably a 5 speed though. Nice kill.

I'm guessing 3.08 now as it isn't a gearbox , its a dogamatic . My old eyes must have been a bit off on the revs, but it was no where near 3 1/2 turns. Thanks for the numbers .

The auto's in these cars are actually pretty good, they don't give too much up in terms of drivetrain loss. I've raced 2 other 3.8 M5's with similar mods/lack there of (at the time I was pretty much stock), and I beat them both. Get some gears and a higher stall converter and you'll eat up any M5 you come across.

    Hotrod, your sig is halarious!
