Black- 1998 Camaro
Another Newbie
I thought I may as well just post on here since I joined the forums. I have a black 1998 V6 3.8L Camaro. Just got it this past September. I'm just wondering what some of my first mods should be. I'm pretty much clueless with cars; been trying to read on the forums and learn some things. I don't have any mods as far as making the car faster. I've just done some things for the appearance of the car. Thanks for any help/advice.

Start simple, the first mods you'll want to do is intake and exhaust. Start with a cold air setup for your car try www.slponline.com
Then you'll want a catback exhaust/headers. There are tonnes of companies that make catbacks for your car, and pretty much any catback made for a V8 fbody will fit your car just fine. I chose the Edelbrock catback for my car, but there are tonnes out there to choose from. As far as headers go, Pacesetter makes some affordable, yet decent quality headers for our cars.
For a reference, the first mod I did to my car was my edelbrock catback. That alone dropped me by .3 tenths of a second. Then I did my SLP cold air intake. I dropped an additional .2 tenths. That's half of a second off of some minor mods.
Hope that helps.1997 Firebird 3.8L

Then you can have some real fun and install the bottle! J/K...have fun with it! Oh, there used to be a company on Ebay that sold Pacesetter headers for cheaper than the stores if you were gonna go with headers. You can get some that are not coated for even cheaper. Just do a search for "V6 Camaro Headers".
