    99 5 speed tranny compatibility with a 4.3L engine

    Will a 5 speed off of a 99 Firebird bolt up to a 4.3L V6 from a chebby truck?
I have a 94 chebby that I'm parting out and I'd like to use the engine and tranny for a cheap hotrod project but I have a lead on a (relatively) inexpensive 5 speed from a 99 Firebird and I'd rather go that route if it will bolt up.

    Thanks.

Nope, You'd need the SBC v8 5spd for a 4.3 conversion.. 3800 series I-II-III use the 60* v6 pattern.. Pre-3800 or 3.8 (yeah they are 2 different engines ) used the BOP bell housing..

Ok, thanks. that's what I wanted to know. I guess I'll have to look for a 3rd gen V8 5 speed.
