    Where'd the power go?

I have a 99 z28 ,i was doing some donuts in a parking lot (i know...silly) when my power steering went out all of a sudden. it was fine before that and hasn't worked since. with the car jacked up it moves fine(as expected) but if someone holds the tire i feel it all in the steering wheel . im getting no sounds of anything trying to work.no leaks. fluid was little low when it happened but not empty and still registering on dipstick. thanks guys. i will add anything that i think of that will help with diagnose as i can.

Common issue after doing donuts with these cars is a dead or dieing PS pump.

belts good pulley has slight wobble to it. not sure if its normal or not, not making a sound. thought there may have been a ticking coming from it but not sure.

The pump is likely dieing or dead.

glad to hear i thought it may be rack.i had no warning at all just crapped out, no more donuts. all the other pulleys are running true but the pump looks like a .020" wobble to it, that must be it. time to order one up. any suggestions? north of the border

You could probably just get an OEM replacement or remanufactured unit.

I can't quote any particular brand really, as I've always just got standard replacement PS pumps. Sorry

12 bolt will work under there too..lol

But have you tried or added any LSD fluid?

GM, makes a specific type to help quiet the rear,, you can ask for it or it's equivalant @ most Auto Parts Stores.

Check your level FIRST,, then give that a shot, just don't over fill it.

If that does'nt work it could just be your 10-bolt doing what it's known for...dieing...:/
