Where can I find Rear Axle bumpers for 99 TA?
I have a 99 TA that is in need of some rear axle bumpers. They are the upper rubber mounts that are held on with 2 bolts over the axle, bolted to the frame to keep the car from bottoming out in the rear .There is one on each side. I want to know what's the right name of the parts and where can I get them other than the dealer.

You are referring to the bump stops.
I don't know if any of our sponsors here sell them or not, but Stranoparts has a set of them that people have used and they worked out quite well.

You can get jeep universal bump stops made by Energy suspension.
not my car, and you don't need the spacer in the second pic:

Thread back from the dead I know, but my axle bump stops are no good anymore. I suggest people check theirs to be sure the axle doesn't hit the body. These Energy Suspension pieces should be fine, I'm getting a pair. A bit less then $20 on the first place I found them. Use the p/n in the photo above.

Here's how to install the universal Jeep bump stops:
First, identify the old bump stops, and see if your 4th gen F-body has a problem like this, where the old rubber bump stop has rotted away. It helps to soak the bolt ends with some penetrating oil if you live where rust might be an issue.
Remove this old piece, it's attached with 13mm head bolts^^^
Then separate the old broken rubber piece from the cast aluminum spacer, in the picture below.

Above, the old rotted bump stop is re-attached, to show where the new piece will go instead^^^
Below, you can see the piece that was cut off the old bump stop spacer. Clamp the spacer in a vise, use a cut-off wheel to do that. Use saftey glasses as metal will be flying. I don't have a picture of how I cut my piece off because it was a ''Hey y'all, watch this!" moment where someone can lose a finger quickly:
Below, here is what it looks like before you put it all back on:
And now, the installed fitment:
Now you don't have to worry about your rear axle smashing into the frame rail, especially if your car is lowered! I used the Energy Suspension part number 9.9137. You can get them in black or red, probably with a suffix code either ''R'' or ''B''.Last edited by Too Fast; 09-17-2013 at 04:10 PM.
