What's needed for lowering?

Just want to make sure i have everything i need for loweirng my car. I just ordered Koni shocks, i have bmr springs, adj. LCA, and adj. pan. I remember seeing a couple months ago that there is a part on top of the front shock that likes to rust but cant seem to find that post. If someone could help me out there. I figure i might as well replace it since i am going to have it tore apart anyways. thanks for any help guys.

Funny you say somthing about that part! Reason I say that is I'm in the same situation in the process of lowering my car with STRANO springs. Well need less to say it didN't go to well. That part (upper front sock mount) was completly rusted on. Tried for an hour to get it off and all I managed to do was ruin the stock sock mounting stud and still have the thing rusted solid. The peice has a rubber coaring over it so its not like you can heat it. My fix just order 2 new ones from a GM dealership and be done. I'm going to try and get mine this week.

I've seen your car around a few years ago...what's ur last name?

oh i may as well add: i think people usually have to cut that bolt and just go to a dealership for a replacement part. i haven't done mine, so idk

well in the northland you'll get that rust. i will be ordering strano springs with kyb's.

Last name is Pelan. Im not sure where you would have seen me usless you were down around my area but any thing is possible. Anyways thanks guys for the help.

Well, i lived around there for over 15 years...i think it's the car i've seen before. I'm not sure

you can get the strut cap mount/bushing? at your local oreilly's or autozone. i had the same problem with mine, and had to cut the complete thing off...PITA!

I did ask my parents and they said we are related distantly to a mike if that is the same one you are refering to. They said something about his parents owned the local bar uptown if that rings a bell. Anyways where did you live around here? ANd what is your name maybe i have heard of you.
