UMI torque arm relocation tranny crossmember insta
Well what should have only taken me like an hour and a half took all day cause this thing didn't fit. Tranny mount hole would not line up. I ended up removing it and enlarging the mounting bolt holes with a dremel, then reinstalling. Over and over again. I was using an Energy Suspension tranny mount and read on another board it wouldn't work cause the stock rubber tranny mount is offset, the es poly one is not. Wtf? The stock crossmember fit with the es mount so I figured this would too. Anywho I got this thing on but had to beat it up pretty good. It makes some noise but not as bad as the tunnel mounted torque arm I had a couple years ago so I guess it will stay. If anyone is wanting one of these I'd say try the BMR one.

Dan's gave me fits. But I got it on.
It was more my fault for installing parts in the wrong order.

So let me see if I have this correct....
You use an Energy Suspension tranny mount that even Energy Suspension does NOT show as fitting your car in their catalog, and that's UMI's fault? Did you try it with a stock tranny mount, you know--like it was designed to use?
No company can do anything about folks who just don't pay attention to parts fitment. You even read in other places that what you are doing was going to be a problem.Sam Strano

This pic of the BMR one looks like it using an ES poly mount to me. I think UMI dropped the ball here. Could have used more room for adjustment on the tranny mount. (there's plenty of room for adjustment in the other direction ) Btw, I didn't have a stock tranny mount, hadn't had one for years and didn't know I'd need one.

I wonder if there is a differnece between the auto and manual mount and you were sent the wrong one. I have used UMI stuff in the past and its been top shelf stuff. Then again you could have gotten a crappy piece.

There is a different part # for T56, 4L60E, TH350 etc. Beats me. You can read my post on Tech where another guy said the ES mount wouldn't fit for him. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showth...=955312&page=3 Post #50, scroll down.
