UMI 3 pt install question

I recieved my UMI 3pts today and before I start I want to get some clarification on the install. I have access to a drive on lift will I still need to support the rear of the car with jack stands? Or can I just stabilize the rear axle and disconnect the lower control arm? any other hints or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

the drive on lift loads the suspension........no? just unbolt the front LCA bolt......the middle cross member brace......slap that puppy in and install the bolts.......easy as pie

Drive on lift makes it real easy -- no jack stands required. Make sure you only do one side at a time, meaning do not unbolt both LCA's at the same time.

that was what I was thinking but the directions seemed to imply the need for the jackstands still. I will take a strap to hold the axle in place also. And yes one side at a time. I could just imagine explaining that one to the auto hobby shop guys. Uhh well there I was and.....
