    Sub Frame Connectors

Who makes the best subframe connectors and where can I get them at the best price?

Oh..whats the way to go, the kind that are made to bolt on or the kind that are built to weld on. I was looking at one of the sponsors pages and they listed a different set at a different price depending on the method of attachment.

FYI: I'm not getting crazy with the car, but its going to have some mods and get thrown around a turn or two on some unpleasantly rough roads....all in all, not an extreme application so I don't need anything crazy - I just want to stiffen it up a bit.

In that case a 2 point weld on would do. I don't like the bolt on ones and the welded are supposed to be a little stronger. Check out strano performance or UMI they have good stuff for a decent price.

UMI are great and sam strano is the person to contact. i went with the 3-point bolt ins, but i think i will weld them in next summer. they squeak every so often until i wrench on the bolts again.

I bought Alston subframe connectors. Alston is a huge chassis shop in Illinois. I heard they make great products, so I picked up a set of weld in. they are goin in tomorrow, I'll tell you if I can tell a difference.

Will the car actually handle soooo much better, or do you just mean that I will feel less flex in the body?

at least on my car, without SFCs the car was a little squirrely when going around bumpy curves. now the car really sticks to the curves and feels much more solid. so yes, the car handles better and yes, there is less body flex.

BTW - on a side note, i use to live in south brunswick. hello former neighbor.

Ironically, these look like the ones I have been eyeballing on ebay for a while. Just always seem to be spending money on the kids instead of my girlfriend. Well, thats what the wife calls the bird. Anyways, plan to be doing business with you after the car gets painted. I don't want any overspray on that red powdercoat, hehe.

Not really. You should be fine. Unless you are road racing you will not need the extra bracing and by that point you probably have a cage which will add all the body rigidity you need. My .02
