strano springs vs. stock springs
from what i hear the strano springs r very popular and r always sold out...people also tell me that the stock v6 springs r very good...i just bought the koni 4/4's but dont knock which springs 2 get....lowering my car is not as important to me as ride quality is....now whats the difference between to 2 besides the fact that the strano will lower ur carand which would be better for ride quality...thanks

Stock spring rates are F/R 292/114 for LS1 310/110 for LT1 and 360/130-180 for 1LE (SS and WS6 thru early 2000)

Strano's are 550/150 and have a 1.2" drop.
Unless your looking for a drag setup I would touch V6 springs.
I have Strano's with Koni S/A's and couldn't be happier. Best way I can describe the ride is Firm like you would expect from a performance car without being harsh like a race car.

It sounds to me like you would be happier sticking with stock springs. The softer spring rate and and more suspension travel is going to give you the best ride quality, and anyway you can always get a set of Strano hollow sway bars to improve handling further without really effecting the ride quality.

At least you started off with the right shocks. Strano's are a performance spring not just a lowering spring. They need a great shock like Koni's to dampen them properly plus the springs were developed using Koni's so great job there. I have Koni 4/4 & Strano springs and can feel the diff. between the two. Ride is firm but not harsh and the car is much more planted and confidence inspiring. Ultimately it will come down to the roads you drive and your goals for the car. A firm great handling car with a good stance for me is a fair trade from the stock shocks & springs, imo.
