    Should I Lower

I have a 99 Trans Am and I want to upgrade the stock shocks and sway bars the question is should I change the springs and lower or just stay with stock springs? And will lowering give me a great performance improvement?

Ya, I was thinking to go with the Bilstein(seems to be what most people say to go with besides koni) shocks & struts Strano lowering springs.

Any thoughts on sway bars brands size and type?

I believe Strano makes his own sway bars.... And you can never go wrong with UMI products

Lowering your car will change the suspension geometry. If changes your pinion angle and also your instant center.

    Koni/Strano - the best
    Bilstein/Strano - 2nd best

If you want to lower, and do it right, plan on buying an aftermarket adjustable pan hard bar and a torque arm that is adjustable.

You will also want relocation brackets for your lower control arms.

    Lowering also requires an alignment.

You don't want to just throw lowering springs on there are call it a day....

And to answer your question about "great performance". Depends. Lowering will actually hurt your 1/4 mile time. It will improve handling though.

UMI sway bars are heavier. The benefit of Strano sway bars are that they are just as strong and are hollow so you save weight. If weight is a concern, which for many people who are serious racers it is, then paying the extra for Strano sway bars has its advantage.

    If not, go with UMI.
