    revalved bilisteins?

are "revalved bilisteins" something you buy, or a mod you do like a "drill mod" to the slave cylinder? If it is a mod, how does one go about doing this?

You can buy them from SLP, that's where I got mine. It's a mod: you buy the shocks, take out your old ones then install the new Bilsteins. Bilsteins are a gas pressurized monotube shock - there's nothing the purchaser can do to modify them, or as far as I know, any other shock. Any adjustable shock has that capability already designed and built in when you buy it, such as some Koni's and QA1's. I've had problems with Koni's in other cars leaking shock oil from the fiber sealing ring that they use on the piston rod; never had any problems with Bilsteins.

I have talked to Sam Strano about this very same issue. Best advise is to listen to Warbird & contact Sam. He knows his suspension stuff and he's very personable.

    Yes and no...

SLP's revalved Bilsteins supposedly have been revalved to match the SLP springs that came with the optionsl SLP Level 1 suspension package from the dealer...This means that the Bilstein's sold by SLP only match the stiffness of the SLP springs, does that make sense???

Sam Strano can revalve brand-new Bilstein's based on what kind of springs you have-however if you are keeping factory springs then you can get away with Bilstein HD's, they're just fine with the factory springs...

Now, if you are planning or DO HAVE aftermarket springs, then depending on what springs you have Sam Strano will revalve the Bilstein's to match the stiffness of the springs that you are using, your car will respond TONS better than right now.

Actually, yes it does make sense... since spring rates vary and the SLP springs could be progressive rate, but at the very least a different and probably higher (stiffer) spring rate than what comes stock the best thing you can do is to match the valving characteristics to the springs. Now, whether these Bilsteins are suitable for dipherentdesign's springs I don't know, but they work fine with my stock springs.

I Emailed Arlyn a couple questions about shocks & got a response within an hour. He said that Sam wanted to speak w/ me about my individual setup & he called me that day. I spoke to him for about 30 min. I'm not sure why your having trouble getting a hold of him, he might be really busy or something to that effect. Maybe call the Tech line.
Here's the contact info just in case you don't have it:
