Rear end misaligned
I went to the tire shop to finally put on my C6's, I went 265/40/18 front and 285/35/19 rear. All 3 wheels were on and finally I was going to drive away on my new wheels when the left rear wheel would not even go on. It went on the right side easy, but when it came to the left side there was no space for the wheels to bolt on. The installer told me that my rear end was shifted to the right and the only way I can think this happened is from my accident about 7 years ago. I guess the body shop didn't even fix it or didn't fix it correctly, anyways long story short it was supposed to be totaled but they figured they would fix it. So now I have the stock rear wheels on and the new pair in the front.
Has this happened to anyone? I just hope my frame is not bent because that would probably be the end of the car. I have to bring it to a shop to be diagnosed. Thanks in advance for the help.

Depending on how far off it is, the panhard bar could be damaged and causing misalignment. The stock ones are fairly flimsy. An adjustable aftermarket one may be the answer.

Thanks Knight, I read about the panhard bars, I sure hope it is nothing more serious than that.

Is your car lowered?

I would advise you to install an adjustable Panhard Bar. It sure will help the techs when it comes to alignment. It's a very easy install and replaces the stock, paper thin one from the factory. Also you will need this if you plan on doing suspension mods such as lowering springs etc. A lot of the WS6 veterans on this forum will tell you to start with your suspension before anything else. Building a strong foundation to build on is the way to go.

No, my car is not lowered. The guy at the shop told me I would never be able to fit the rims on the car, and need smaller rims. I have seen the same size C6 rims on a lot of camaro's in this forum so I hope he is wrong.

Agree^^ with members ! When r/r -ing my stock panhard somehow when installing my new adjustable panhard the rear -end/axle was off and the car felt funny sounded weird etc,,,took it to local mod guy and he adjusted everything no problem. It wasnt as severe as your stating but try the adj.phb see if that fixes things.

Time for the BFH mod.

I would go with the adjustable just for the simple fact that the axle favors one side more than the other with the stock phb.

Can anyone recommend a good panhard bar company?

UMI Performance -- great products built right here in Pennsylvania. I run all UMI underneath our car -- fits perfectly, looks great and the improvement over stock stamped parts is something you can feel when you drive the car.

Okay so I brought the maro to chevy to be diagnosed, they looked under and measured and said nothing was bent. They said the reason why the left rear rim didn't fit was because of the offset of the rear rims. So they are telling me that I need a 2 inch wheel adapter for the rear rims. Will this mean the rear rims will stick out a lot? Has this ever happened to anyone using these rims? Thank you.

If you have the same offset on both rims, they should fit. You shouldn't need two different offset rims. Something seems wrong there.
