    rack n pinion( sport suspension)?

I have a 98 z28 How can I tell if my car has a sport package suspension? I'm going to replace the rack n pinion because it's leaking. Is there a code on sticker on the side of the door? I called and there's two opinions.

You want the Rack and Pinion for the FE2 not the F41. The angle for the input shaft and the size is different.

FE2: Suspension System, Ride and Handling - Standard for all V-8 F-Body cars

FE4: Suspension System, Special Ride and Handling - Upgraded V-8 (Camaro SS, WS-6, FireHawk)

F41: Suspension System, Front and Rear Firm Ride and Handling - V-6 performance package
2000 T/A-DMH Cutout, SLP Cold Air kit, FTRA/SLP Upgrade, SLP Bilstein, LT1 Eibach ProKit, Kuhmo PA31 Tires ,SLP Fan Switch, UMI Double Adj PHB w/ Roto-Joints, UMI LCARB, Strano 35/22mm Sway Bars , Magnecor KV85 Wires, Hurst Shifter, Lou's Short Stick.

In 1998, Y87 was for the 3800-II performance package, aside from a quick ratio rack and pinion (14:1), these cars also had a posi rear and better rear gears (3:42) than the standard v6 cars. ..And the one piece drive shaft was added after 96.

The F41 designation was before 97, until then ALL v6 cars were F41 16:1 stearing ratio it was not a performance package.
It amounted to just shocks (De Carbon) and sway bars.
