QA1 SA's vs Koni SA's
I'm in the market to purchase a set of new shocks and narrowed my choices to either the QA1 SA's or the Koni SA's. Right now I'm running Ground Control Coil-Overs. I was wondering if anyone has ever compared the two, and which one is the better setup for all around performance.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
if you go to BMR's site, they mention somewhere that their QA1's are pretty much better off for tracking, the koni's are better "all around" as you say. www.bmrfabrication.com

Thanks for the info. I was hoping that the qa1's were the better choice because they are less expensive. I guess its koni's for me.

I know this is going to be like comparing apples to oranges but my brother who had a 2003 Sunfire was running KYB's with Ground Controls, he lowered it about 3 inches. He had them on for about a year (approx. 14,000miles) until one of them blew. I'm not sure if he just recieved a bad one or what. I also know that ride height also affects the wear and tear on a shock, so that might be the blame. I'm not saying they are bad or nothing like that, I'm just a little iffy about running those with ground controls.

The qa-1's are not a very good shock unless you are drag racing only. They are oil filled shock which will work great until you heat them up. Once they start getting hot the oil begins to thin, they start to fade and loose the ability to control whatever spring combination you are using. If you are looking for a good solid performing shock stick with the Koni's, Bilstein's, or Tokico's.
Good Luck,
