Panhard Rods
I recently lowered my '01 Trans Am using Eibach Sport Lines. I didnt know I needed to replace the panhard rod with an adjustable unit, so I just ordered one from UMI. Does anyone have a pic of there adjustable panhard on the car so I can see what it is supposed to look like? Looks like it should take about 1/2 an hour to change out. Is there anything I should watch out for?

Here is a pic of a UMI non-adjustable panhard bar. The only difference is that the adjustable unit will have a threaded section with a jam nut. Should take all of 10 minutes to change it out and then a few more to adjust it. You will need to set the car down, jounce the suspension a bit to level it and then check your side to side clearances and adjust accordingly.

Thanks guys. I paid a little more money than I should have for the car, but the condition of the underside was definitely a strong selling point.

I really have to clean the underside of my car. The components are powder coated, and the halfshafts are polished, and then the sheet metal of the floor pans is all coated in gunk. Doesn't look right at all.
pajeff02, what did you do to get it that clean?

The suspension components, exhaust and axle were all new when that pic was taken. I painted the springs and stock shocks. The stock d/s is hanging by a bungee strap and has since been replaced with an aluminum PST. The underbody was wiped down with a rag and Simple Green. It was just a clean car to begin with even at 71,500 miles.

I bet I could get pretty close to that if I only had a lift. Not so much fun cleaning on our back.

The underside of my car has that "lived in" look.
