    need pic of underbody please

    edit. nvm found this:

That is the crossmember right? And the tranny mount is between that and the trans bolted in the center there? or am i still lost under there.

Either way, does anyone have the bolt size and torque for that black metal piece? i hit something in the road and heard a lound pop and rattle, and looking under the car i see that at least 1 bolt from that is missing and its hanging down... and the car feels ackward as hell in the trans now.

also... where would the tunnel brace bolt in in relation to that?

You're correct, I don't know the bolt size. Just take one with you to a autoparts store and find some the same size and thread pitch.
The tunnel brace is not to far back out of view in you photo, where the I-pipe starts.
    The torque is 42 lbs.

it connects both sides of the underbody since there is a gap down the center all the way back for the drive shaft. doesnt do much in terms of handling, probably just there to prevent too much flex which over the lifetime of the vehical could easily cause warping and cracking. they make a few replacements, some come with a drive shaft saftey loop like in that pic. stock one fits most exhuasts but big pipes will rattle against it. bmr fabrication makes the one im gunna replace the stocker with.

Are you sure this car has actually been driven? I am beginning to think that it is trailered anytime you want to take pics of it somewhere. Does my envy show?

Thanks guys, and yes it actually gets driven. Maybe one of these days it will have a trailer of its own, but its too much to not drive it

The red one is a driveshaft safety loop from BMR. UMI and most other suspension manufactures have them as well.

Your picture has me thinking... I have wanted to install a drive shaft saftey loop on our car. However, Ryan at UMI informed me that their loops do not fit the factory Y-pipe. I also chatted with Mark at KY Speed and he thought the same about their products. I could go with a bolt together Lakewood, but that is sort of cobbled imo.

Your loop sets below the exhaust and seems to easily clear the torque arm. It really looks like it should fir with a stock Y, and also be good down the road if I upgrade to LT's and a catted Y. Any recollection of the part number, or what setup your BMR loop was designed to fit? Even if there are some clearance issues, it appears that a little tweaking could make it fit.

I have considered this, but never looked at it seriously as I lack a torch setup for making the bends. I am not a fan of cold bending steel, especially where its strength may be tested.
