LCA install
The good thing is you all are helping me learn, the bad thing is I'm still ignorant when it comes to what can and can not be done on ramps oppose to jacks/stands
I've done two simple installs now with the UMI bolt on SFC's and adjustable PHR.
Now I'm looking at doing the LCA's. I'm looking at Koni's and springs in the spring when additional $$$ as been accumulated.
The question I have about LCA's. Can they be done with just a set of ramps?
I used ramps when doing the SFC's, and only had a minor issue with the passenger LCA bolt. Is there any major reason why once again, the trusty ramps in my driveway can't do another suspension mod?

from what i remember and im pretty positive you have to let your suspension fall when doing the lca's it might not be a have to thing though my lca instructions said to so i did
but make sure and pick it up before torquing the bolts down so you make sure you dont get any preload

Hi,
I just installed some UMI 3 pt SFCs and lower control arms last week.
You only really need to jack the back of the car up and place jackstands
underneath the frame. This will let the rearend hang.
When I installed my equipment I had the front wheels on ramps and the
backend held up by jackstands under the frame. This allowed me to
have the car level for the SFCs. It also helped keep the rearend
from swinging forward which made it much easier to remove and
reinstall the lower control arms.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the replies.
I'll have to see if I can borrow a jack and stands, a garage would also be good.
Thanks again,

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
this is the best write up. used it for mine. I'm like you, bro...totally ignorant on how to do this shit.
If you are installing LCA Brakets-have a shop do them. You'll need some one to cut the little brake line anchor [not the brake line!] with a torch, then re-weld it to the new brackets

One thing that you want to make sure of if you have an adjustable set is that the rod end is centered and the locking nut is really tight. Otherwise, you will hear loud clanking sounds. LCAs are fairly easy install, just follow the instructions from install university and it should go with no problems.

Thanks for the tip about the locking nuts.
I have to put my car up on ramps this weekend and check the lock nuts on the adj. PHB.
Either my rear end is getting ready to blow up, or the PHB is making noise.

If I were to redo things I would also probably use a little bit of locktite just to make sure things stay in place. Granted I used a hammer to help make sure mine are good and tight, and they have survived about 600 miles without trouble including crappy back roads Louisiana.
If they are loose at all then the rod ends will turn and bind causing a clunking sound on almost any bump. Not so sure about the panhard, but I know it is a fact for the LCAs

- Want a new car
I always like to jack the car up by the dif because I just can't get under the thing and get in good positions to do what I need to do, the ramps are just not high enough.
