    Koni or Bilstein's

Just got a new set of Bilstein's SLP spec'd shocks from Summit #SLE 70008. Problem is that I have the Koni option on my 01 SS. I thought I was replacing them with the same shock but the one's on Spurs are orange not yellow. I have been real happy with what I now know are Koni's.

Before I make the decision to keep the Bilstein's or send them back, I thought I would consult with my fellow SS bro's for any comments or opinions.

    Bilstein's or Koni's?

[QUOTE=SpurSS;700629]I'm replacing them due to a wave in the tread wear pattern of my g-force kd's. Not getting a lot of bounce or loss of performance in corners althought I have noted it diving on hard braking. KD's also showed inside tread wear on the right front, I'll know more about that when I have the front end aligned after the struts\shocks go on. Think I'll call SLP. $350.00 that may be enough to may my choice.

Just looked at performancecenter.com The koni's don't look orange, summit sells a similar shock for $360, no shipping.

Well I've had them on for a few months now and they are great. Really plant the rear hard. My old burn outs were never real dark, now they stay for months after I do one. I hadn't noticed how much the nose was diving until I went after the breaks for a fool on the road and high speed cornering is better.

Revalved Bilsteins are needed only if you have aftermarket springs.

Wheel hop is gone, those delco carbon tubes were bad ass shocks these SLP Bil's are still a step above that.

I've owned or own one of each of the series of Camaro's this 01SS is the BADDEST of the lot, and I own a 68 big block, took me 20K miles before I was willing to let it eat all out.
